About Me
My name is Yanira Rangel
I have 28 years of experience as a High Profile Professional Nanny working with newborns, multiples, infants, toddlers, and adults. Working with all ages inspired me to become a Newborn Care Specialist. I am highly adaptable to any specific needs. I understand that the early years are essential for their development and stepping stones which is why I treat children with respect. It is my passion to care for and work with children. I'm patient, compassionate, and very creative. I believe that having a collaborative environment and trusting relationships with parents is crucial for the development of all children.

What is an NCS?
A Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) usually starts with a family on the day they bring the baby home from the hospital or the day of home birth and stays typically for up to 3-4 months to guide and educate new parents and offer hands-on care to the newborn to help establish feeding, routine, and healthy sleep habits.
What is the difference between an NCS and a Postpartum Doula?
NCS’s priority is on the newborn and their care while a doula is more concerned with the support of the mother and family as a whole. Doulas usually assist mothers and families with all aspects of the postpartum journey.
Newborn Care Specialists focus on newborn care and prioritize creating a routine for the baby. This includes Sleep training and Sleep conditions as well as feeding schedules.
Sleep Conditioning & Sleep Training
Sleep Conditioning typically revolves around an ideal sleep environment to create healthy sleep habits. Usually, sleep conditioning starts at 4 months.
Sleep Training involves various sleeping techniques to find what suits each child best to adjust a child’s sleep behavior. Usually, sleep training starts at 4 months.
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A professional trained to work with a new mother through the period after birth. The postpartum period is the first 6 weeks after the birth of your baby. A postpartum doula lends a hand and offers knowledge and support once you bring your baby home. Postpartum doulas provide families with information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They might also help with light housework, fix a meal, and help incorporate an older child into this new experience.
What does a Postpartum Doula do?
A Postpartum Doula's responsibilities change each day based on you and your family’s needs. A postpartum doula gives you physical and emotional support after the birth of your baby. Postpartum Doula support might include
-
Breastfeeding knowledge, support, and assistance
-
Helping with newborn care, such as full infant responsibilities.
-
Helping your family learn and become comfortable with baby soothing and bonding methods
-
Looking after the baby so parents can get a full night's sleep and/or naps, showers, or eat a meal
-
Offering physical support as mom recovers from birth
A lot more can be offered to each family upon request as each postpartum doula personalizes their services for each family.
